I've recently installed FreeBSD 4.7, which I believe includes XFree86
version 4.3.0 (how do I tell?).
Since the upgrade, xterm does not generate <DEL> ("^?", octal 177) for
the Delete keysym - it insists on generating "<ESC>[3~" instead.
This same escape sequence is generated by apLineDel and KP_Delete, which
I don't care about - but the Delete keysym really should generate the
"delete" character ...
How do I change what xterm does with the Delete keysym?
