Hello I have a problem that seems to be related to the nv driver. When I move the text cursor around in text edit fields in certain apps (Evolution and Mozilla come to mind), the area it moved from isn't redrawn properly, and marks from the cursor are left all over the place. This obviously makes the text hard to read, and even though it can be temporarily fixed by moving the window outside the screen and back, it is very annoying.
The reason why i think this is a problem with the nv driver, is that the closed source nvidia driver doesn't have a similar problem (but it sure has others). Has anyone else experienced this, or are there anyone who knows of a way to fix it? My graphics card is a fairly recent Geforce 4 Ti4200, I'm running XFree86 version 4.2.1, and my configuration file looks like this: ### BEGIN DEBCONF SECTION # XF86Config-4 (XFree86 server configuration file) generated by dexconf, the # Debian X Configuration tool, using values from the debconf database. # # Edit this file with caution, and see the XF86Config-4 manual page. # (Type "man XF86Config-4" at the shell prompt.) # # If you want your changes to this file preserved by dexconf, only make changes # before the "### BEGIN DEBCONF SECTION" line above, and/or after the # "### END DEBCONF SECTION" line below. # # To change things within the debconf section, run the command: # dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86 # as root. Also see "How do I add custom sections to a dexconf-generated # XF86Config or XF86Config-4 file?" in /usr/share/doc/xfree86-common/FAQ.gz.
