Please send the log file.

Use an editor and edit /etc/X11/XF86Config.

Egbert.

I've tried to use the vi text editor, but it won't let me type anything.  I can't even get out of it once I start the program.  Either I'm doing something wrong (which is entirely possible), or it's not working right.  Can you tell me exactly how to edit the XF86Config file?  What programs to open and how to edit it, etc.?  I only have about 4 days worth of Linux experience so I am very new at this.  Remember, I can't use any GUIs because my mouse doesn't work, so I have to do it at the root prompt.  Thanks.
