I just bought a new laptop, the emachine M5310. It comes with a widescreen which is giving me troubles loading the gui. I installed red hat 9 and when it gets to the text login screen, it flashes a couple of times and then gives me an error saying it can't start xwindows. I am almost positive it is because of the widescreen. I have found documents from other people who edited the xf86config file for dell inspiron 8500 notebooks with a widescreen but none of the configurations I found allowed me to load the gui.
