This explains the message. /proc/sys/kernel/exec-shield does not exist on my system so my kernel does not support exec-shield. I don't think I need it thus I won't waste time tryiing to enable this feature. Leaves the question: Can I tell X not to log this message? (I run a Debiansystem and have bad experiences not using the maintainers-packages. That's why I can't use the original binaries from XFree86.org.)
