i cannot for the life of me get xdm to accept an Xterm to connect to it. i've edited Xaccess, but that does not seem to have done me any good. i don't know where to look for good error messages either.
what insanely stupid thing am i doing wrong or forgetting to do?
You probably forgot to comment out the 'requestPort' resource at the end of /etc/X11/xdm/xdm-config.
