Hi,
I had just started my linux machine and i faced this problem.
GUI login screen is not coming and after booting blank screen comes with flickering and later displaying message unable to start XServer. and when i disable gdm in the console screen it displays.
Login:gpm: oops() invoked from gpm.c(186)
dev/ttyS1: Input/output error
I am using RedHat Linux 9.0.
