Alessandro, Yes indeed, a patch already exists, but it hasn't yet been thouroughly tested. In addition, the patch won't work any more on the current version of Xindice. I am still working on getting it fixed right now though (will get going in about 30 minutes ;) ).
My first priority is to get something working accross XML-RPC, because this is needed to support UTF-8 strings being sent between client and server. I hope to have something for that tonight. Next I will try and re-apply the changes I had made originally (which will hopefully work better under XML-RPC). For what they are worth, they are still available at: http://lambiek.amplexor.be/downloads/xindice-utf8-patches James -----Original Message----- From: Alessandro Scotti [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 02 May 2002 20:02 To: James Bates Subject: Xindice & UTF-8 Dear James, sorry for bodering you. I'm porting an xml UTF-8 application for the study of the Dead Sea Scrolls to Xindice. The $XINDICE_HOME/docs/README says that the UTF-8 Encoding issue will be fixed in version 1.1. If I understood http://www.xindice.org/papers/tasks.html you are working on this issue. I'd really really appreciate it if you could tell me if any patch is already available and if you could send it to me. If no work has been done I could give a hand if you are interested. thanks a lot for your kind attention. regards Alessandro Scotti Istituto Universitario Orientale, Napoli, Italy.
