But this is equally split-up, if not more incomprehensible because it is not separated by notion.  It should be top-down, not bottom-up.  Client, server, service are concepts (top), xmlrpc is a transport (bottom).

my vote, to take the refactoring a little further, this makes even more 
sense to me.
    

I fear that there will be too much redundancy in the code.  The code will be
split a little bit everywhere and will be hard to maintain.

maybe :

   - xmlrpc
       - client
       - server
       - service

would be easier to maintain.
