3. developers. My productibity with Jetty is now orders of magnitude greater. Just "build run" and everything is recompiled and started automagically, in *seconds* by Jetty (not in *minutes* by Tomcat). And think about your nightly test (cool stuff!) being run automatically by Gump...
I have absolutely nothing against Jetty and I am sure that it's a
potentially great thing for Xindice. I will be the first to try it and
if it's better than Tomcat, be certain that I will forget about Tomcat (except for testing, of course).
As for Gump, I don't need Jetty in the CVS repository since Gump will compile a fresh version.
Why don't you first write an installation how-to for Jetty so that
everyone can see how it works. If everyone complains that it's unhuman
to install Jetty, I may reconsider my position but for now I still think everyone can handle the Xindice/Jetty installation.
