Yes Kimbro, a request more than a question really: You may have noticed I'm attempting to document where the database core engine stands today. The reason is that I'd like to get on with developing DATABASE functions in future releases, and am not really so interested in changing to the XYZ framework or adding PQR client connectors etc... This is code which has not really been touched since you and Tom left. As I'm backtracking source code, and using hex editors to emperically determine things, maybe I'm missing original design or algorithmic intentions in some places. Can you take a look at the document and comment on it? Tell me what I'm missing? Maybe even contribute some parts that I haven't written yet? A generated version is available at (to avoid having to install and set up forrest): http://lambiek.amplexor.be/xindice/dev/guide-internals.html Thanks, James
