Not that I currently know off... :-( Just to be sure: do you have resolver.jar somewhere in your classpath? I just quickly checked the Xindice CVS repository and I cannot find it there, but then it could be contained inside one of the packages in the lib dir (a quick glance didn't reveal them there, neither).
