This is certainly import for multi-language support. So for no "mature" database has native multi-language support. Work-around dose exist, but when you are intending to work with more than one language, you are out of luck and most of the time you wont get the desired result. With native xml db, you work with Unicode and you can deal with languages like Chinese and English in the same docs with out much trouble.
