Belinda, Why do you think that XUpdate is broken? I have a set of test cases that I ran recently and it appears that XUpdate is working. I think XUpdate is the mechanism for making changes to a document. However, I am sure that if you wanted to go down a layer or so you could call the API directly. However, that API could change over time, where as XUpdate should be stable.
Kimbro put out a bunch of XUpdate samples and the last time I checked they all worked. What have you tried or rather what do you want to do that doesn't work.
