I know this post was submitted a month ago, but in case you haven't had any luck I thought I'd post that my Xindice is working in Redhat 8.0. I'm not using Tomcat, so I can't answer question 3. As for questions 1 and 2, the answer is no. If you still need a hand, please let me know.Hi all,
When I use the shell script that comes with Xindice 1.0 and try to run it as a Service, the console says Xindice starts-up. However, when I try to access Xindice I get nothing (either via http or CLI). The boot.log has no messages from Xindice either. I am able to start/shutdown Xindice from a terminal despite my service/startup issues. I am running RedHat 8.0 with JVM 1.4
<question>
1) Could this be due to the java install having a few jars in the jre/lib/ext?
2) Could this be RedHat kernel incompatibility?
3) If I use Xindice as a webapp embedded in Tomcat will I be still be able to use the cocoon xmldb protocol?
</question>
Thanks in advance,
Julian
