One additional question is:

Is support for XML-RPC access going to be sustained in the future, or is it just
an interim solution, which might be remove if XML:DB is restored?

The main reason I'm asking is that I see some great advantages of XML-RPC
over XML:DB. For instance, when I want to remove a resource by its key,
I can build a request using the key directly, rather than having to first
fetch the resource from the db by key and then pass the resource to the
Collection.removeResource() method.

One disadvantage is that I guess XML-RPC is not standard as XML:DB is,
but I am willing to take the XML-RPC for its flexibility.

Subject: Clarification on status of XML:DB and XUpdate in Xindice 1.1b

Please confirm if the following statements are correct:

1) Xindice 1.1b only supports XML-RPC;
2) Code that uses the XML:DB API does not work with Xindice 1.1b;
3) As a consequence of item 2, there is no way of running XUpdate commands on Xindice 1.1b.

Is there a way of running XUpdate against XIndice 1.1b using XML-RPC?
Will XIndice 1.1X support XML:DB in the future?

Thanks,
