Xindice uses parser configured in your JVM. Read about (or read sources of) javax.xml.parsers package.
We will follow up on an Eclipse forum to find out why the Xerces parser is not being used as I expected.
You can set this from $XINDICE_HOME/config/vm.cfg
It is used only by "xindice.sh" script and has nothing to do with Eclipse. I suspect eclipse has own way to configure what parser to use on the level of plugins.
