Hi Michael,
There are a few locations on the internet to find information on Xindice, like http://xml.apache.org/xindice/ and http://wiki.apache.org/xindice. One of them is the Wiki which contains the answer to your question in the FAQ:
http://wiki.apache.org/xindice/XindiceFAQ/XindicePort
This should help and maybe there is more information that is usefull for
you. Good luck!
thanks very much. I should have searched better ...
Thanks
Michi

Subject: Configuring Server Port
I have deployed the war file of xindice-1.1b4
I try to import a file with xindice.sh but receive the following error
XMLDB Exception 0: Cannot communicate with the server: http://127.0.0.1:8888/xindice/
My tomcat runs on 8080. Sure, I can change the server port, but is there a possibilty to change the port within Xindice (or xindice.sh)?
If I do
grep -rl 8888 * classes/org/apache/xindice/client/xmldb/xmlrpc/DatabaseImpl.class
then it seems that 8888 is hardcoded within the class above ...
Thanks
Michi
