Whoa -

"... you can never have too many options..."?

Years ago I worked on an IBM mainframe supporting
an online banking system - we used IBM's CICS.

CICS go so loaded with bells and whistles that NO
ONE (even IBM) knew how the all worked - or even
what they were for. CICS turned into a slow monster.

I hope Davide can hold the line somewhere.

As for the current question - I have no preference.

Agreed.  The most customization the better, can never have too many options
