I'm not an expert on spamassassin, but if I remember correctly it can be
rather draining taxing on a server, and anti-virus programs (not sure which
one you're using)can also cause similar problems.  Also (again if I remember
correctly) if a filter corrupts a message it can lead to problems with
XMail.  You may want to consider turning off the filters to see if they are
the source of your problem.  Sorry I can't be of more help.
