Hi everyone. I'm trying to run the opengl version of xmame but it's currently much too slow on my PC. I did notice a message that mentions a file I'm missing called libxgl.so when trying to load xmame. I am currently running Linux Slackware 7.1 with kernel 2.4.16 (as well as 2.4.17-pre2), XFree86 4.1.0, KDE 2.2.2 on a PIII 850 with 512MB ram and a Matrox G450 video card. (XFree86, the kernel, as well as KDE were all compiled by me recently).
I have verified that hardware acceleration is working by running glxinfo. I have the necessary DRI kernel modules being loaded (mga.o in my case) and have included the necessary lines in my XF86Config file. Running glxgears seems to show hardware acceleration is working by running at about 800 fps. I have searched high and low for a file called libglx.so on my system to no avail. Everything I search for on the Internet corncerning libxgl.so seems to lead to nVidia based drivers. (I need something that will work with my Matrox card). Is there somewhere I can obtain the source for libxgl.so? I'm hoping once I have that in place, the speed will increase. I'm not even getting 1 fps (at least it seems that slow). The straight X11 version as well as the SDL version I compiled work great. I would just like to take advantage of the extra speed I would get from running the opengl version. Thanks for any help someone might be able to provide. _______________________________________________ Xmame mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://toybox.twisted.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/xmame
