I've set JAVA_HOME ('export JAVA_HOME=/usr/java/j2sdk1.4.1') and jMame
starts. I have set the path to my xmame executable in the Global Settings
dialog, so 'MAME Program' now contains this:
/home/lex/projects/xmame/xmame-0.60.1/xmame.x11
(my xmame.x11 is owned by root.wheel, modes -rwsrwxr-- / 4774, btw)
I take it that 'ROM Path' can be a colon-separated list of directories, as in
the xmamerc path? I have set this to the following:
/mnt/cdrom/allroms:/home/lex/projects/xmame/roms .. and so on..
The trouble occurs when I select 'Generate Game List' - I get this output on
the console:
...
java.io.IOException: java.io.IOException:
/home/lex/projects/xmame/xmame-0.60.1/xmame.x11: cannot execute
java.io.FileNotFoundException: /home/lex/.jmame/gameslist.txt (No such file
or directory)
java.lang.NullPointerException

These 'couldn't get file lock' messages repeat a few times. I checked with
ps and jMame definitely isn't executing Xmame, and ~/.jmame/gamelist.xml is
empty. Any ideas what's going on? I'm stumped. :(
Alex.
