[Xmame] Neogeo Console Mode

Anybody know if it is possible to add console mode selection to the Neogeo driver? I tried uncommenting the machine mode fake dipswitch in the source but it doesn't seem to do anything. I'd be really happy to be able to do this, as this would give me a way to finally play console mode Neogeo under Linux :)         - Simon
