Try using wget.
If you 'wget -c' It will continue downloading from where it left off. You can even ^C the download and then resume it later. If you're using an everyday distro, you probably have wget already installed. ----- It is very unfortunate, but I am not using anything that is from the modern age, I am using the "company computer" (notice the usmc.mil ;)) and they are using NT 4.0 ;p We all remember how bad IE is with downloads, NTM the volatility of a sattellite internet connection (when you're moving on a ship) ;).
