Mrs, i'm getting thesse errors compiling the latest version of xmame:
Try commenting out JOY_X11 in the makefile (put a "#" at the front of that line). The X11 joystick driver has been broken for years, so I wonder if it might just be best to remove it altogether instead of trying to patch it up so that it builds.
