Can anyone out there let me know the point or function in the mame code which does all of these system tests ... or can anyone out there let me know the function which renders the first 'real' game screen ?
Those screens appear because the original game code displays them. MAME has no explicit place where it displays them. As far as it is concerned they are all real screens.
