That's weird...
Here's my configure line. The difference might be explicitly pointing CC
to i386-mingw32-gcc (even though PATH is set correctly):
./configure CC=/opt/mingw32/bin/i386-mingw32-gcc --host=i386-mingw32
--without-python --without-readline --disable-static
Running make immediately after results in both dlls (libxml2-2.dll and
testdso.dll) residing in .libs.
