Well, I guess that's what EDI-oriented people are waiting for, some
pointer that says "this is the XML equivalent," which I think is a bit
odd, considering XML's flexible nature.
Products like ours (and I would guess this is what tsisoft and sterling
are doing too) that do one-pass EDI translation (essentially any-to-any
text) hav been doing X12/Edifact to/from RosettaNet, BizTalk, and CBL XML
(or for that matter, any Schema/DTD XML) since last year. I would assume
that the new Mercator does this and Sterling's Gentran won't be far
behind, either.
