FIX 4.2 is now closed to new features and changes in functionality. The FIX Technical Committee has published two draft releases. Draft #1 was released December 27, 1999. Draft #2 was released January 24, 2000. The final version of the FIX 4.2 Specification will be released on March 1, 2000.
