David:

When in doubt, always take a look and see how UN/EDIFACT does it. D.E.
6411 (Measure unit qualifier) has a note saying "See UN/ECE
Recommendation 20, common code." UN/ECE Recommendation 20 - Codes for
Units of Measurement used in International Trade - is at
http://www.unece.org/cefact/rec/rec20en.htm. But you're surely not
serious about using crappy old EDI code values with XML/EDI, are you?
Doesn't BizCodes have something along these lines?

Subject: ISO weights and measures?

ISO 3166 Country Code and ISO 639 Language Code

what about weights and measures? Grams, Pounds, Inches, Meters,
all that stuff.

I'm assuming ISO has a set of code tables for these - anyone claim
to have the definitive answer on all this and or a URL?

Thanks, DW.
