XMLmind XML Editor v4+ will probably not start on the machine of this
user and she/he'll see hard to understand error messages.

I understand that very well. Note that we have supported Java 1.4 for a
very long time. Now Java 1.5 is a pretty old version of Java, available
on all major platforms. And Java 1.7 will be released in the near future.
