This is fortunately not the case. (If this was > the case, we would give up Linux support. Not kidding.) Thanx Hussein :D No worries. I'm going along Linux since 2000 :D (SuSE 7.0 > Ubuntu) And I *will* continue! I like LINUX :D And BTW, in my opinion everybody should find out yourself what OS ist suiting the best for yourself. For me, it's LINUX :D Especially Ubuntu (Debian). After installing Sun's Java 5 from Ubuntu's non-free repositories a new entry was added to the Gnome 2.14.1 menue list: system > options (or similar, currently I'm running the German interface) > Sun Java 5.0 Plugin Control Panel Using the Java Tab and Run Time settings (or similar) I found out the path the Sun Java JRE is located: /usr/lib/jvm/ And there I found still listed the GNU Java "java-1.4.2-gcj-4.1-1.4.2.0" folder. *AFTER* a fresh Ubuntu 6.06 Dapper Drake setup. I will or better *have to* (something went wrong with the last Ubuntu setup mapping existing home folders) setup Ubuntu 6.06 again. This is probably why java -version gives me back: java version "1.4.2" gij (GNU libgcj) version 4.1.0 (Ubuntu 4.1.0-1ubuntu8) Copyright (C) 2006 Free Software Foundation, Inc. This is free software; see the source for copying conditions. There is NO warranty; not even for MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. After removing the gij-4.1 and depended java-gcj-combat deb packages I got: java -version java version "1.5.0_06" Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_06-b05) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_06-b05, mixed mode, sharing) AND in result:D Drag and Drop works fine on: +===============================+ | Pixware XML Editor 3.7.0 | | sucessfully tested on | | | Ubuntu 6.06 LTS Dapper Drake | | Sun Java 5 (1.5) | | after removing the gij-4.1 | | and depended java-gcj-combat | | deb packages | | THX, Pixware crew :D | +===============================+ I'm so happy getting your "DITA aware" XML Editor running :D May be you can create a "DITA aware" button on your website. OASIS established this term. THX Hussein for support! cheers, Kay > > > libjessie-java > > > > free implementation of the Java Secure Sockets > > Extension (JSSE) > > Jessie is a free implementation of the Java Secure > > Sockets Extension, > > the JSSE, a standard API for Secure Socket Layer > (SSL) > > network sockets. > > The JSSE, aiming for compliance and compatibility > with > > the > > JSSE as it exists in Java 1.4.
