I hasten to add that the Professional Edition delivers a wide range of features that are much more accessible than the offerings of the other XML editors I have evaluated. Not only does it support easy creation of HTML, PDF, RTF, WordXML, and other files, but it lets you modify Conversion Parameters without having to delve into the intricacies of XSL.
Certainly everyone likes "free," but ? 220 / $ 220 is a reasonable price, especially for creating future-proof documents, articles, tables, slides and books! It is in everyone's interest for XMLmind to continue in business and we can't really expect them to do that with charging a fair price for their product. And for those who really cannot afford the price, who have more time than money, I believe there are free tools elsewhere for converting DocBook XML files to HTML.
