Sorry but the answer is no.

XMLmind XML Editor does not implement a tag view, an XML source view.
Moreover the use of of the tree view is strongly discouraged.

See http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/why_choose_xxe.html

See
http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/_distrib/doc/user/being_productive.html#no_tree_view

I thought that our web site made this quite clear. It seems that I was
wrong.

This is called an XML source view. What is called a tag view is
something different: it's a graphical view showing formatted blocks
where start and end tags are depicted using nice, labeled, icons.

I would say that it's impossible to do that in the general case using
CSS alone.

With CSS alone and a lot of efforts, you should be able to have a pseudo
tag view for a given document type.

We clearly cannot recommend to attempt to do that: lots of efforts, poor
results.

Sorry but the answer is no, once again. You seem to need a basic
feature which should be built-in in the product. The customization
service cannot be used to remove what can be seen by some users as a
fundamental limitation of the product.

Note that we are adamant that a user can do anything she/he wants using
the styled view + the node path bar alone. That's why we do not plan to
implement a tag view, an XML source view or even improve the usability
of the tree view.

Sorry for not being more helpful.
