Sorry but this is incorrect. mml:piecewise is *content* markup and won't 
solve your problem because you are almost certainly authoring 
*presentation* markup. (XXE does not support content markup at all.)

Using XXE v5.3:

[1] Drag your mouse over your 3 equations in order to select all the 
characters they contain.

[2] Use the MathML tool found at the left of the main window.

[3] Click on the "Brackets & Boxes" ``drawer''.

[4] Click on the template showing a left brace (found under the "Single 
bracket" heading).

This is a quite basic operation: select text then click on a template to 
wrap the selection in this template. Therefore I strongly recommend that 
you take the time to follow this tutorial:
