Hello, we have been testing XXE applet in a big company where Internet access goes through a corporate proxy. The applet was hosted on a server on the Internet.
All went fine, until XXE tried to LOCK the XML file being open. The LOCK request would never reach the WebDAV server (the same Calenco server from which the applet is served). By chosing to open the file in read only mode, it would open fine. After playing with proxy settings, the proxy provider found out that adding the server hostname to the "hosts" file would fix the problem. According to him, XXE would "need to be fixed, not to rely on DNS resolution for proxied environments." Have you ever been aware of such an issue?
