When I try to link to the online OASIS DITA Reference manual using the

This problem is almost certainly specific to your working environment. I mean, this is not a bug which I can reproduce on my PC.

I have checked my file associations, .html is correctly associated with
Internet Explorer.

By default, a .html file is opened using the ``default viewer'' helper application.

On Windows, the ``default viewer'' helper application is command "start" (which leverages the file associations of Windows).

Please double-check this with the file associations of Windows. Also check that there is no .html file association with your XML text editor (in addition to the one for Internet Explorer).

I have deleted my XML text editor from XXE list of helper applications.

Please check that your XML text editor is not the XXE helper application used to open *.html* files.

Please use "Options|Preferences", "Tools|Helper applications" section to do that:

--> If everything fails, you can always delete (or better, move to a temporary folder) the "preferences.properties" file in order to restore the ``factory settings'' of XMLmind XML Editor.

The location of the "preferences.properties" file is documented here:
