My employer is switching to CentOS 6.5 from Red Hat Enterprise 5. When I
try to run XXE (5.4.1 or 5.8) I get the following error:
GLib-GIO-ERROR **: Settings schema 'org.gnome.system.proxy' is not installed
If org.gnome.system.proxy is a network proxy, then *may* *be* checking:
"Direct connection to the Internet"
instead of default:
"Use system settings"
in "Options|Preferences", "Advanced|Proxies" section would suppress this
error message.
See

It appears to be related to Gnome 3, but I’ve had very little luck
finding any help on either the CentOS site or the Red Hat site. I have
determined that the same thing happens on Red Hat Enterprise 6.5.
Thoughts?
More generally...
...I use a Linux box (openSuse/KDE) for my day to day work. Because I
always start all my applications from a Terminal, I have this kind of
error messages all the time, whether using XXE or another applications
(e.g. Emacs, Firefox).
I have never been able to relate these error messages to actual problems
(whatever the application). Therefore, I came to completely ignore these
messages.
