Does this mean people using any Apple PC cannot use XXE if its deployed
as an applet?
Simple, cautious, answer: No, XMLmind XML Editor, as an applet, does
*not* work on Mac OS X.
Real answer: we have not tested this feature since Oracle released Java
1.7 for the Mac because, for now, we tend to favor Apple Java 1.6 (=good
font rendering) over Oracle Java 1.7 (=poor font rendering)
Therefore we cannot really answer this question.
We expect:
* XMLmind XML Editor, when deployed as an applet (or using Java Web
Start for the same reasons), not to work with Apple Java 1.6 installed
on the Mac.
* XMLmind XML Editor, when deployed as an applet (or using Java Web
Start for the same reasons), to *possibly* work with Oracle Java 1.7
installed on the Mac.
This being said, it's a snap to give it a try using your own Mac, your
favorite Web browser and your installed Java runtime. Please try to run
any of the demos found in "Running XMLmind XML Editor as an applet" -
