If you do not plan to use a Java™ 1.8 runtime (also called Java 8) to
run XMLmind XML Editor v5.9 in the next couple of months, you can safely
ignore this announce.
XMLmind XML Editor v5.9 has been extensively tested against Java 1.8. We
have found problems in just the two following add-ons:
[1] Add-on "Paste from Word" didn't work. It pasted vastly incorrect data.
[2] Add-on "Google® virtual drive plug-in" didn't display the
authorization dialog. Instead, it started the Web browser opened on the
authorization page (as if a Java 1.6 runtime was used).
Clearly, problem #1 is a show-stopper and problem #2 is a minor annoyance.
We have released a new version of the "Paste from Word" (v1.0.0_03)
which fixes the problem. If you want to upgrade this add-on, please
proceed as follows:
[a] Right-click the XMLmind XML Editor icon and choose "Run as
administrator" from the popup menu. This will start XMLmind XML Editor v5.9.
[b] Choose menu item "Options|Install Add-ons".
[c] In the "Install" tab, click the "Upgrade" checkbox found at the left
of the "Paste from Word" row.
[d] Click OK and restart XMLmind XML Editor as instructed.
