Finder, the file manager of OS X, has a manual "Open" function to open

However, in our experience (OS X 10.7 and OS X 10.10), neither of these
methods work together XMLmind XMLEditor: All that happens is ...
nothing. Well, XXE does open (or is brought to the front), but the file
does not get opened.
Not a huge issue for most users fo XXE - probably, but confusing for
some users.
Is this a known bug? And is there hope that it can be fixed? Or is there
even something we can do to make it work? (I have tried the typical
thing, namely to let all .xhtml files be opened by XXE - without success.)
XMLmind XML Editor contains special code which aims to integrate the
application to Mac OS X. Therefore opening XML documents this way should
work fine[*].
We'll try to reproduce and fix the bug you have reported. However
specifying which version of Mac OS X and more importantly which version
of Java (Apple Java 1.6? Oracle Java 1.8?) you use would help.
All known problems specific to Mac OS X are listed here:
http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/known_problems.html#problems_on_mac
However this list is missing Retina specific problems as we didn't have
a Retina Mac at the time this list was written.

contains an "Info.plist" file declaring all the file extensions XXE can
open.
