After looking at the code it seems that implementing the -view
command-line option described above is (surprisingly) quite involved.
Therefore we gave up this idea. Sorry for that!
OTOH, there is a way to achieve what you want without having to edit by
hand the "viewSettings" preference in the user preferences file
(https://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/_distrib/doc/help/preferenceKeys.html).
