Use Commons HttpClient (see CommonsXmlRpcTransport).
This topic or at least similar was up a few days ago (look for subject
"HttpClient - usage etc and subject "[PATCH]Patches and additions to make
HttpClient work with Apache XML-RPC" in dev list)
