KDrive is essentially unmaintained these days, and the focus is on
pushing Xorg towards the same memory footprint as KDrive has (or had
before XKB, which blows everything else out of the water really).  If
you must continue using KDrive, I'd recommend trying to work on a raw
evdev driver, akin to xf86-input-evdev.
