I went through the same thinking. There is no specific process for wikis. My general reading on the matter is that you edit the wiki and others can correct if they think it is wrong. Common sense and good working ethics are always welcome. In the example you provide, the changes to the build script have already been reviewed. Make sure you test the sample code you may provide and keep in mind various platforms install stuff in different places. Enjoy!
