sorry, was rather busy the last few weeks, didn't get to this until now. If we're keeping that work on a branch for now anyway (until we have something in the server that matches at least) don't worry about all the warning flags. If you really want to, put a AC_MSG_WARNING in. History has taught me that people who want to shoot themselves in a foot will do so despite configure flags and complain loudly anyway. Let's get the lot to just build from their respective branches without manual interaction.
