I just uploaded a patch to the bug tracker which gets rid of the
warnings and uses better conventions for the subject line and commit
summary. Should I send it to this list or xorg-driver-ati?

Thanks for the encouragement, I think I will do this. As I'm sure you've
noticed, I'm not as knowledgeable as the other module maintainers. So
even if I get full git access in the future, I will still make sure any
large patches I write get reviewed before being pushed.
