sysprof is very easy to use, the easiest of all profiling tools I know.

Thanks, but I suspect that isn't useful outside of your machine. Even if it
was, I would have to go out of my way to handle it, since oprofile is no longer
available in Debian.
Also, I'm afraid the data in comment #19 isn't enough. Without callgraphs, it's
not clear where the CPU usage is coming from.
