When I looked into the touchscreen situation sometime back, I arrived
at the conclusion that 'evtouch' is being maintained (to the extend
that it compiles) by the Debian X hackers. No development seems to be
going on.

I don't work with touchscreens any more (change of job), so I can't
help out here. But it did want to mention that the 'evdev' driver is
really easy to read and modify, so Tias, if Peter is willing to accept
these features in 'evdev', then I would really recommend that you port
them from 'evtouch' to 'evdev'.
