I don't think so -- Gimp, and Inkscape draw perfectly in rotated mode.

Checked. Looks like xournal takes as much CPU rotated as unrotated.
I'm really surprised at this -- it doesn't seem to be a broader WACOM/X
issue, since Gimp and Inkscape do fine. Just in case you're interested,
here's the rest of my user-space
